MATT MCLEANE
Lay Pastor
Matt McLeane serves as a lay pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, helping foster discipleship and unity through the church’s small groups, greeting and visitor ministries, and Discover Calvary, its new member class. He and his wife, Tara, began attending Calvary in 2002 and became members in 2003. Matt previously served as a small group leader and deacon. Matt is passionate about helping people abide in Christ, connect with one another, and grow through one-on-one discipleship. His desire is to see believers love Jesus, serve selflessly, and love His church. His ministry training includes studies at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and the Pastoral Training Institute through Anchored in Truth. He and Tara have four children: Samuel, Sawyer, Collin, and Claira. Matt enjoys golf with his sons, hockey with his daughter, family vacations, and meals together filled with laughter.
MARK COOPER
Lay Pastor
Mark Cooper serves as one of the lay pastors/elders at Calvary Baptist Church, helping provide spiritual leadership and administrative oversight. He has taught God’s Word at Calvary for more than 30 years and served as a deacon before becoming a lay pastor/elder in June 2026. Mark is passionate about making God’s Word clear, practical, and memorable. His approach to church administration reflects the biblical principle, “Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40). He and his wife, Lisa, have been married for more than four decades and are blessed with a growing family that includes their children, their spouses, and grandchildren. Mark has spent his career in the trucking industry.

JOHNMICHAEL POULIN
Lead Pastor
John Michael Poulin serves as Lead Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. He has spent more than 20 years in ministry, nine years serving as a missionary in Peru. In addition to pastoring Calvary, John Michael serves with BMA Global as the Regional Coordinator for South America. John Michael is passionate about preaching God’s Word, making disciples, developing leaders, and helping the local church carry the gospel to its community and around the world. He and his wife, Angela, have three sons and a growing family that includes four grandchildren, with another on the way. They are grateful to serve the Lord together and consider it a privilege to be part of the Calvary family.
MAC KING
Associate Pastor
Mac King has been serving as a pastor at Calvary Baptist Church since February 2018. He oversees the Children’s, Youth, and Nursery Ministries, as well as the maintenance and care of the church’s buildings and grounds. Mac enjoys playing guitar, being outside, telling good stories, and spending time with his family. He and his beautiful wife, Sara, are blessed with three children: Jase, Cole, and Everly. Mac is passionate about teaching God’s Word and helping others grow in their knowledge of and relationship with Jesus, to faithfully serve Christ, love His church, to know Him more, and to point others to the hope and truth found only in Jesus through the faithful teaching of God’s Word. Philippians 3:10: “That I may know him…”
JOEL GASTELUM
Lay Pastor
Joel Gastelum became a lay pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in June 2026. He serves Calvary, helping the congregation minister as one church in two languages—English and Spanish. Joel grew up in Mexico in a Catholic family and came to faith in Jesus Christ at age 18. He went on to serve in a local Baptist church for more than 35 consecutive years. Joel holds a degree in industrial engineering and has worked in the environmental and safety field for more than 20 years. After working in Mexico, he moved to Mississippi when he was invited to work for a European company based in the state. He and his wife, Marta, have been married for more than three decades. They have two sons and a daughter.
