Josh had the privilege of being raised in a godly, Christian home, and came to know Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of four. During his teenage years, he allowed some life experiences to distract him from the Lord, and eventually he found himself having run very far from the Lord indeed. His testimony is absolutely a testimony of His grace, because when he had made myself completely unlovable in his sins, God lovingly and powerfully drew him back to Himself in a way which shook Josh’s entire world (for the better!). In early 2014, Christ called Josh out of a very comfortable job on the railroad and into vocational ministry – much like Jeremiah, he felt the irresistible “burning in his bones” to preach and teach the gospel. He is so grateful to serve in such a wonderful church with such wonderful pastors, and cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for Calvary!
Experience / Background:
His background is primarily in law enforcement, where he served with three different agencies in three different states over a 9-year period. He has a double-B.A. in Sociology and Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Arkansas, and an M.S. in Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University. He is currently seeking an M.Div in Pastoral Ministries from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and by God’s grace he is set to graduate in May 2017.
He has been married to his best friend and the love of his life Marci since 2005, and they have four precious children: Bailey, Joshua Paul II (JP), Andrew, and Johanna (Jo). There is never a dull moment, and they are thankful.
Personal Interests / Hobbies:
He and his wife both greatly enjoy their family time, and much of his free time is spent with his kids. He also really enjoys reading, movies, and recreational shooting.
